It’s been said a hundred times before, the pandemic has wildly changed the landscape of public engagement, and it’s essential to accept that it will never go back to the way it was. Over the course of this pandemic, we’ve changed how we do things with new expectations for how and when people engage and what’s available to them when they do.

Pre-pandemic, everyone expected the one-evening event and maybe the one-weekend event. But now we’re in a space where the time of day, time zone and date for events almost don’t matter because online events have increased the ability to participate.

But people ARE going to want to participant in-person AND they are going to want to participate online. It’s time to get AGILE and create hybrid engagement opportunities!

Design for Hybrid Public Engagement Events is similar to stand alone in-person or online, however a number of key considerations and accommodations as needed for meaningful events that deliver results and create connection between participants.
