How do you show up in a room? Did you know that your first contact with participants, your first moments in a room, first words that are spoken all have an impact on the trust, credibility and potential success of what comes next.

This two day course will ensure you are ready not only for the first exchange but for all those to come. Expect to co-create the guidance, skills and knowledge necessary to become comfortable with all the critical elements of session design and facilitation for public and stakeholder engagement.

Participants will learn AND PRACTICE facilitation skills such as descriptive language, reframing, empathetic response, and value-based questioning.  These tools and others will support you to effectively expand positive participation, connect with participants, identify and build common ground and move discussion forward. Additionally, this course emphasizes the planning and designing of facilitated public involvement events and has a practicum component that gives all participants ample opportunity to facilitate in a supportive and constructive environment.
